He worked with government administration offices, joint government administrative bodies and public finance sector units, including state public-law institutions.
In 2016-2017, co-founder and Member of the Board of Directors of Aplikacje Krytyczne, a company owned by the Ministry of Finance, which develops analytical information systems to support the Tax Administration and other state bodies in criminal-fiscal activities and countering financial irregularities. In 2017-2019, served as a Board Member of the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS), overseeing the maintenance and development of IT systems processing data of over 25 million ZUS clients and transactions valued at over PLN 300 billion annually. Responsible for the digital implementation of the 2017 pension reform and other national projects: centralization of social contribution payments (e-Skladka), digitization of employee files (e-Akta) and digitization of sick leave (e-ZLA).
He served as a Member of the Digitization Council appointed by the Minister of Digitization, a Member of the Scientific Council of NASK, and an Advisor to the Steering Committee of the electronic ID card (e-ID) project – being appointed jointly by the Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration, the Minister of Digitization and the Minister of Health. He served as an advisor to the Presidents of selected state-owned companies. He is a member of the Scientific and Expert Council for Cyber Security at the Police Academy in Szczytno. Major General Szymon Koziatek was a cadet at the Mechanized Forces Officers’ School in Wrocław (from 1989 to 1993), graduating as a top student. After
graduation, from 1993 to 1999 he was a platoon and company commander
in the 18th Airborne Assault Battalion. During the years 1999 – 2001 he attended the National Defence University. Following years he spent in the 25th Air Cavalry
Brigade as: Battalion Chief of Logistics, Brigade Operations Section Officer, Battalion Chief of Staff, Brigade Operations Section Chief, Battalion Commander and Brigade Training Chief.
In 2010, he was assigned to the Operational Command of the Armed Forces, where he served as the Head of Land Operations Branch, Deputy Head of the Command Center and Head of the Joint Operations Center.
In 2016 he graduated from the Canadian Forces College where in the years
2015 – 2016 he studied the National Security Program.
From 2016 to 2018, he served as Deputy Head of the Planning and Programming the Development of the Armed Forces Board (P5) in the General Staff of the Polish
Army, subsequently he was appointed to serve in the 6th Airborne Brigade in the position of Commander. In 2019 he returned to P5 in the General Staff of the Polish Army as Head of the Board, where he performed his duties for 3 years. On the
October 1st 2022, by the decision of the National Defence Minister, he was appointed Commander of the 12th Mechanized Division.
From February to July 2025, he served as the Commander of the Operation “Bezpieczne Podlasie”.
General Koziatek also participated in deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan.
By decision of the President of the Republic of Poland, March 1st 2018, he was appointed the first general rank, subsequently on August 14th 2023 he was promoted to Major General.
In 2025, he was transferred to the 2nd Polish Corps, where he serves as the Deputy Commander – Interoperability.
Major General Szymon Koziatek is an experienced jump-master who has completed over 500 parachute jumps in his military career.

previously worked for the Polish Civil Aviation Authority and a national air carrier. For
